A Journey Towards Peace and Prosperity

The event will take place at Freedom Park in Pretoria, South Africa where over 5 days of meetings, we will consolidate ideas and present a collective report on long-term solutions for Ethiopian Unity.

Introduction

Unite Ethiopia is a campaign that has arisen in the last year to address the need for long-term solutions and humanitarian needs that face the Nation of Ethiopia. It is an international Campaign that has focused its efforts on the 5th Annual Rastafari Continental Conference which takes place in Pretoria South Africa from 11th to 16th November 2024. At this conference, we will gather Pan African Leaders, members of the Ethiopia Community, South African Officials, Interfaith organizations, Ethiopian government officials, and Rastafari Groups continentally and participants internationally.

The event will take place at Freedom Park in Pretoria, South Africa where over 5 days of meetings, we will consolidate ideas and present a collective report on long-term solutions for Ethiopian Unity.

We will also be presenting humanitarian donations to a credible organization that specializes in getting goods to Ethiopia, working in collaboration with the Ethiopian Government for national reconciliation.

Our Mission and Purpose

Our Vision – A united and peaceful Ethiopia.

Our mission as the Unite Ethiopia Campaign is to bring awareness about the citizens affected by the current unrest in the area and to raise funds for humanitarian relief for Ethiopian citizens who are affected and displaced.

We also aim to engage constructively on possible solutions to encourage harmony and cooperation between opposing forces for the sake of the well-being and protection of all Ethiopian citizens.

Partners and Supporters

Due to how new a campaign we are, we are working currently with non-profit organizations such as the Rastafari Continental Conference (RCC), Rastafari United Front (RUF), Mamelodi Arts and Culture Forum, Reform the United Nations Now (RUNN), Rastafari Nation Council (RNCSA), in which that board members of these groups are members of the Unite Ethiopia Campaign. We are building with NIFCSA National Inter-faith Council of South Africa, and Freedom Park Inter-faith Council among many groups, and will have more to announce as well as MOU memorandums of understanding with these and other groups. We are operating as a non-profit, though we are not to work in alignment with other NPOs or Non-profit organizations.

Unite Ethiopia Peace Concert and Gala Dinner
In honor of our guests and to further galvanize support, we will be having a gala dinner and concert on the final night of the conference at Freedom Park. The dinner and concert will be able to host 500 people and there will be an online registration fee.

The following evening a public and commercial reggae festival, with Unite Ethiopia being the theme. This event will be organized in concert with the Mamelodi Arts and Culture Forum, and with local promotion companies.

Campaign Management

The campaign is managed by a board of directors as follows:

  • President and Deputy President
  • Secretary/Head of Communications
  • Treasurer/Head of Finance
  • Head of Public Relations and Media
  • Head of Humanitarian Work
  • Head of Music Department

We have a humanitarian department liaising with relevant and recognized humanitarian organizations to collaborate in bringing relief to those affected by the unrest in Ethiopia.

We also have a music department, which has created riddims (reggae instrumentals) for artists to sing on for the promotion of the campaign and are looking at which artists would be right for the concert on the 15th and the festival on the 16th of November 2024. We also have a humanitarian department that is liaising with existing humanitarian organizations in Ethiopia

A budget is being developed to have accommodations prepared to show the artist in our request for their participation. These accommodations will be in unison with the music promoters for the festival.

All Board members’ names and contacts will be public and all work will be transparent.

Objectives

Direct Humanitarian aid to Ethiopia via a third party that is trusted by all parties including the Ethiopian Government – This Humanitarian work will not end after the events, but will be passed on for Pan African Organizations to contribute collectively so that we can build that alliance and have it accessible year-round. This will be part of the agenda of the Rastafari Nation Council in South Africa.

Promote and encourage attendance of the 5th Annual Rastafari Continental Conference in South Africa which includes the Unite Ethiopia Gala Dinner, Peace Concert, and Music Festival – During the 5-day Conference we will organize a collective report from the many groups, communities, and businesses, present on long term solutions for Unity in Ethiopia to the South African Government, Ethiopian Ambassadors, and the A.U., concluding with

Organize and gather funds with organizations who are willing to assist in the peace campaign.
